As Christians we go through many trials and struggles, not least the loneliness and doubt of the ‘dark night of the soul‘. This was famously described by St John of the Cross in the 16th Century. Yet, by today, this is a ‘junk draw’ term that can describe a plethora of emotional, mental and spiritual experiences. However, this experience is something that we go through today, as well as something that Jesus, Peter and Annas went through in John 18:12-27.
Read John 18:12-27 and consider the following:

- what is Peter going through?
- what is Jesus going through?
- How, do you think, are the two linked?
