Review of 2010: Sermons

As we close 2010, I thought I’d remember what we’ve leant and done this year.

In terms of preaching at Ammanford Evangelical Church, this is what we covered:

We preached rapidly through the Book of Esther and called the series ‘God is Nowhere? God is Now Here’.

Next we slowed down and savoured John 17 and called the series ‘I love it when a plan comes together’.

As we were enjoying the Gospel of John so much, we continued right through to the end – coinciding with Easter.

After Easter we started our current year long series going through 1 Corinthians called ‘Uncensored’.

In the summer we had a little break from 1 Corinthians and looked at the Old Testament King Josiah.

In the midst of that we also had Wyn Jones delving into 1 Peter.

There you have it…the Spiritual food of AEC for 2010!

Here’s the question: How did those effect you? Your beliefs? Your behaviour? How have you grown in doctrine, doxology and duty? In what ways have these sermons changed your head, heart and hands?

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
