Over the holidays I have been reading through Paul’s journey’s in Acts and was struck by his farewell to the Ephesian elders in Acts 20.
In light of this I have chosen a mission statement verse for my ministry….
I’m calling it my 20/20 vision:
19I served the Lord with great humility and with tears, although I was severely tested by the plots of the Jews. 20You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. 21I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.
I need to keep the context of verse 20 (19 and 21) in mind. I need humility, tears and be willing to face plots/ trials. I also need to remember that what I declare is faith in Jesus. In light of that, my mission is to ‘not hesitate to preach anything that would be helpful‘ and do it ‘publicly‘ in Church and ‘from house to house‘.
Please pray that by God’s grace I would do that as a faithful servant.
