The ‘rational’ Dawkins?

The Richard Dawkins Foundation claims to be for ‘Reason and Science: A clear-thinking oasis‘.  In one of his most popular books, The God Delusion, Dawkins gives this reasonable (?), scientific (?), clear thinking (?), oasis (?):

‘Once, in the question time after a lecture in Dublin, I was asked what I thought about the widely publicised cases of sexual abuse by Catholic priests in Ireland. I replied that, horrible as sexual abuse no doubt was, the damage was arguable less than the long-term psychological damage inflicted by bringing the child up catholic in the first place.

This Sunday we will be looking at what makes such an intelligent man make such unreasonable, unscientific, and disturbing claims.
